So this brings us almost up to date (sorry, but work has really got in the way). Bit of a daytrip this one, wandering the streets with Jerm IX, finding spots. and taking shots.

One of the few times where we've not ended up getting chased by cops too! (though admittedly one did go up in a gallery)

This project has been a long time in the making, and was put partly on hold for V-TARP but is now hitting the streets at last.

The Gaschild image was inspired originally by an old photo of a Disney branded child's gas mask from WW2. It was a few days later when I moved past the image itself to wonder if this was just a glimpse of what's to come, 65 years ahead of it's time.

As we continue to pollute our environment, at a barely abated rate despite our knowledge of what we are doing, what will we leave for our children? Will the Gaschild return?

So with a crew of five we still managed to get busted by two cops, catching us with everything in our bags, Jerm's paste open next to the piece and my stencil drying against the fence... an then they decided to let us walk away.

Nerve wracking, crazy, very confusing, and totally worth it. Hope you like the shots, and appreciate the piece.

Up an about early with jerm IX today, 3 hits on the skytrain for V-TARP then a two hour interview with the editor of Beyond Robson for a feature on street art.

Finally, booked tickets for Kris and myself to watch Banksy's film (Exit through the gift shop... if you've been living under a rock) when it opens here tomorrow!

Gas Child - Air Supply

Friday saw me riding up Fromme with Ian Hylands (if you're not familiar with his work, check it out) to install Gas Child on a trail called Air Supply. The ride turned into a four and a half hour epic, so I was pretty glad to have packed light, but a good shot of it's going to have to wait.

Thanks to Ian for the help, the cleat marks, and a great day on the shore.

Well, those are the words of Jerm IX, but the man's a poet. He's also the friend I've been working with the most since I've been over here. Skatepark collaboration today, one of Jerm's scrolls pasted next to the stencil I was cutting the other night.

A quick comment on the storage and use of our personal data, but maybe it'll get some people thinking about how free they are with it.

An before you ask, no, it's not my thumbprint!

Stopped by Paint your Faith. again yesterday, an dropped this little guy on the corner on the way. Hastings Street is one of the most important east-west traffic corridors in the cities of Vancouver and Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. East of Woodward's, the street forms the heart of Vancouver's historic original downtown, once known as the Great White Way because of its neon displays, and which is today the troubled Downtown Eastside (DTES) and a notorious open-air drug market.

This piece is at the start of the DTES, and while a gas mask might be overkill, it's a pretty toxic environment for a child.

Thanks to jerm IX for both the help putting it up, and the photo.

Finally, I got down to cutting this last night. Can you tell what it is yet?

Well, 2 days of cleaning and it's already in use. No fussball table like Sueme's (though I do have cable and a sofa, fridge etc.), But no vermin (of assorted genus) like Indigo's either! An it sure does come with some history...

V-TARP got some more press today. Inspire Collective featuring us for the second time.

Layer 4/11 for a collab with jerm IX for the SFU entrance to the Woodward's building in Vancouver's DTES. Nearly been driven mad by this one I have to admit, the level of detail went to 11.

Should be up by the weekend, the woodward's building sits beneath a big, red W for anyone that doesn't know!
